Modes & competition
Create a room to play with friends, practice against AI, or join Ranked for a single-round rated match.

Ways to play
Custom rooms
Create a room and share its code or invitation link. Up to four players can play together, with additional seats for spectators.
AI battles
Practice white-edge connections, closing regions and assessing risk against computer opponents. The game offers different AI options.
Ranked matches
Use matchmaking to compete for seasonal standings. RTG changes depend on results and your opponent's rating.
Knockout tournaments
Follow a tournament bracket and advance round by round. This is a separate format from Ranked rating-based matchmaking.
One round or three?
| Mode | Rounds | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Ranked | 1 | The round's result decides the match. |
| Regular / AI | 3 | Decided by the total score across three rounds; a two-player score tie may end in a draw. |
| Knockout | 3 | Total score, then round wins, then a tile draw if both remain tied. |
A single-round match uses the same placement and closure-scoring rules. The difference is when the match result is decided.
Three-round totals and round-win marks
Scores earned in each round accumulate into the match total. Winning two rounds does not automatically win the match. The small round-win marks next to a player's name record how many rounds that player has won.
In knockout matches, the player with the higher score in a round earns 1 round win. If that round is tied, neither player earns a round win. Round wins are the second criterion when the match totals are equal.
How is knockout advancement decided after three rounds?
- Compare the total score across all three rounds: The higher total advances, even if that player has fewer round wins.
- If totals are equal, compare round wins: The player who won more rounds advances. For example, at 30 points each, 2 round wins beat 1 round win.
- If both totals and round wins are equal, draw tiles again: Each player selects a different tile from four concealed choices containing 1, 2, 3 and 4 white edges. After the reveal, the player with more white edges advances. The system selects automatically for a player who does not choose before the deadline.

Ranked & RTG
Ranked uses an Elo rating system. A new account starts at 1200 RTG. The first 10 matches are a placement period, during which rating changes may be larger. Ratings continue to adjust afterward based on both players' ratings and match results.
